“The National Health Service (NHS) reported that 10.8% of children aged between 5 and 16 in England suffered at least one mental disorder in 2017.”

Why Yoga for Children?

Mental health is no longer only a problem just for adults. But an increasing number of children are suffering from some sort of mental health disorder. “In particular, increasing numbers of children across the European Region have reported poor mental health. Stress experienced during a child’s development can significantly impact their cognitive outcomes as they age.”

Yoga nurtures both the mind and body, fostering emotional balance and inner harmony. Research suggests that yoga encourages self-awareness, helping individuals tune into their thoughts, emotions, and physical well-being. For children and adolescents, this practice can be a valuable tool for self-discovery, improving focus, self-esteem, confidence, and self-regulation.

By supporting their unique growth, yoga empowers young individuals to find balance between personal strengths and societal expectations. It promotes healthy development, resilience, and emotional well-being, helping them become strong, mindful, and socially engaged individuals. Research has shown Yoga to be correlated with positive health outcomes, particularly alleviation of stress, in children and young adults.

What we Offer?

Our children’s and young person programs have been designed in such a way to keep young people engaged over the sessions and imbibe the practices in the best possible way. Our multiple day workshops include a breadth of different yoga practices within the structure and include asanas, pranayam and Nada yoga to bring out the best in the child and keep them engaged. The children can learn the practices in the workshop to then continue practising on their own afterwards, or else continue guided in person sessions to improve their postures and get their practices reviewed. Guided sessions can also help children to maintain discipline and reap the best benefits.
